Hot dog Dosa - Savoury meal

Dosa dog is an absolute street food experience with a twist.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 portion Crêpe Dosa batter
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 piece Cooked hot dog
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Mustard sauce
  • 1 tbsp Hot sauce optional

Instructions
 

  • First add salt to the batter as per your taste.
  • Preheat your good quality, non-stick pan or griddle on medium heat .
  • Once its hot, lower the heat to low medium heat and lightly grease the pan with small amount of oil/butter and wipe away any excess with a sheet of paper towel.
  • Make the plain crêpe dosa with our crêpe dosa batter by spreading out the batter in a circular motion using the back of the ladle and make a thin crêpe.
  • Let it cook for about 2 minutes until the bottom surface turns light golden colour and flip it and cook for about a minute and its just about done.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the cheese all over the top of the crêpe dosa and leave it for a few seconds to melt.
  • Transfer the dosa to a clean work surface .
  • Place a hot dog on the side closest to you ,spread some mustard over followed by some ketchup or hot sauce , if you like. pile on the caramelised onions
  • Roll up the crêpe dosa and Enjoy!

Egg Benedict Dosa - Savoury meal

Delicious Egg benedict can taste better with crêpe dosa batter

Ingredients
  

  • 1 portion Crêpe Dosa batter
  • 1 slice Ham
  • 2 tbsp Hollandaise sauce
  • 1 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Chopped chives optional

Instructions
 

  • First add salt to the batter as per your taste.
  • Preheat your good quality, non-stick pan or griddle on medium heat .
  • Once it's hot, lower the heat to low medium heat and lightly grease the pan with small amount of oil/butter and wipe away any excess with a sheet of paper towel
  • Pour the batter to make a thick medium sized crêpe dosa like a pancake with our Crêpe dosa batter (check out the video).
  • Let it cook for 2 minutes until the bottom surface turns light golden colour.
  • Flip it and cook for another 2 minutes and it's just about done.
  • Transfer the dosa to a clean work surface.
  • Place the sliced ham on the crêpe dosa.
  • Boil water in a saucepan.
  • Bring the heat down to medium and create a whirlpool with a ladle.
  • Crack open the egg in the water and wait for 4 -5 minutes for a medium poached egg.
  • Strain the water and place it on top of the sliced ham and dress the hollandaise sauce on top.
  • Garnish the dosa benedict and Enjoy!

Quesadilla Dosa - Savoury meals

  • 1 portion Crêpe Dosa batter
  • 2 tbsp Chopped peppers
  • 1 tbsp Chopped garlic
  • 2 tbsp Grated cheese Cheese of your choice
  • 1 tbsp Sliced onions
  • 1 tbsp Mexican spice mix
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions
 

  • First add salt to the batter as per your taste.
  • Preheat your good quality, non-stick pan or griddle on medium heat .
  • Once its hot, lower the heat to low medium heat and lightly grease the pan with small amount of oil/butter and wipe away any excess with a sheet of paper towel.
  • Make the 2 plain crêpe dosa with our Crêpe dosa batter by spreading out the batter in a circular motion using the back of the ladle and make a thin crêpe.(check out the video)
  • Let it cook for about 2 minutes until the bottom surface turns light golden colour and flip it and cook for about a minute and its just about done.
  • Transfer the dosa to a clean work surface .
  • On a hot pan add 1 teaspoon oil and sauté peppers, sliced onions , chopped garlic with some Mexican spice mix until they are soft and cooked.
  • Now preheat the oven at 180*c and place the dosa on an oven tray & spread the ingredients and sprinkle the cheese. cover with another dosa on top and cook it until cheese melts.
  • Once cheese melted remove it from the oven and transfer it to a chopping board cut into pieces to share and enjoy!

Masala Dosa - Savoury meal

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Potatoes Maris piper (preferable)
  • 1/4 cup Sunflower oil
  • 1/2 tsp Black mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1-2 pieces Dried chilly optional
  • 1 tsp Channa dhal
  • 1 tsp Split urad dhal
  • 1 hand full Curry leaves
  • 1 pinch Asafetida or pinch of onion powder & garlic powder
  • 1 large Red onion Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Cashew nuts optional
  • 2 tsp Fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Salt more if needed
  • 1/4 cup Garden peas
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 pack Crêpe dosa Batter

Instructions
 

  • First add salt as per your taste to the batter.
  • Place the potatoes in a large saucepan, cover with water ,and set over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil , then reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 20 mins, until the potatoes can be pierced with a knife. Drain , reserving about 1 cup of cooking water.
  • Let potatoes cool slightly, then remove the peels with your hands and place the potatoes in a large bowl.
  • Temper the spices: wipe clean the pan used to cook potatoes . Heat the oil over medium- high heat until very hot but not smoking
  • One immediately after the next , add spices without stirring: first the mustard seeds(they will start to pop), followed by cumin seeds, then red chillis , channa dhal, urad dhal, curry leaves , and asafetida.
  • Let the spices darken a couple of shades , taking care not to let them burn .
  • Reduce the heat to medium and add the onion, cashews, if using, ginger, and green chilies. cook, stirring often until the onion is glossy and slightly softened , about 2 minutes. Add turmeric and cook for 30 seconds, then add salt.
  • Return the potatoes to the pan and coarsely mash with a potato masher until they are bit coarser and drier than chunky mashed potatoes.
  • stir in some of the reserved potato cooking water to moisten and break down the potatoes to a scoopable consistency and add lemon juice to taste.

  • 3 tbsp Cooked mince meat mixed with tomato sauce can be alternated with other marinated or plain cooked meat.
  • 2 tbsp Chopped peppers can be altered with other toppings of your choice
  • 2 tbsp Sliced mushrooms can be altered with other toppings of your choice

  • First add salt to the batter as per your taste.
  • Preheat your good quality, non-stick pan or griddle on medium heat .
  • Once it's hot, lower the heat to low medium heat and lightly grease the pan with small amount of oil/ vegan butter and wipe away any excess with a sheet of paper towel.
  • Pour the batter to make a thick medium sized crêpe dosa like a big pancake with our Crêpe dosa batter (check out the video).
  • Let it cook for 2 minutes until the bottom surface turns light golden colour. ( cooks quicker with a lid on top)
  • Flip it and cook for another 2 minutes and it's just about done..
  • Add all the toppings and let it cook for 2 minutes with a lid on top with medium low heat.

  • Strain the water and place it on top of the sliced avocado
    Garnish the dosa and Enjoy!
